"My hope is that fish printing will become standard practice after fishing trips. PaperFin's inkless capabilities make this attainable."

Robert is a dedicated steward of Gyotaku and a leading voice in its contemporary evolution. He is a Gyotaku instructor at the Japanese Culture Center of Chicago and a sought-after keynote speaker, offering insight into the art form’s historical significance and modern resurgence. He is a passionate collector of the art form which includes many pieces previously exhibited in museums around the world.

Robert is an avid angler, who was introduced to the Gyotaku art form as a taxidermy alternative by his wife, Ellen. This introduction led him to create PaperFin - an inkless approach to fish printing designed to make the process more accessible by removing the hardships that can be associated with the traditional ink method.
